Lexus IS’ V6 Named to 2009 Best Engines List
The Lexus IS 350’s V6 engine has once again been selected to the Ward’s Auto 10 Best Engines award:
Toyota Motor Corp. scores its fourth consecutive 10 Best Engines win with its Lexus 3.5L DOHC V-6, a brilliant design that employs a unique, combination direct- and port-injection fueling system that helps generate 306 hp and 277 lb.-ft. (376 Nm) of torque
Audi’s 2.0L turbo-4 also scored a fouth consectutive win, but every other engine was making their first appearance on the list, including Hyundai’s new Genesis V6 V8 engine and BMW’s new inline-6 turbodiesel.

I’d love to try the IS350 (not out in Australia)… I took an IS250 loan car out for a spin when my IS300 was getting serviced, it felt like I had a sloth under the bonnet, didn’t want to rev or give me anything at all compared to the 2JZ-GE. I liked the car itself, so with a better engine I imagine it’s a million times better.

AWESOME!
lol …what really amazes me is how Lexus’ and BMW’s engines but esp. how Lexus is able to cost-efficiently mass-produce IS 350’s engine.
Honestly, I think that nothing in this world beats innovation than something impossible made not only possible but also easy.

One quick note, it was the Hyundai Tau 4.6L DOHC V-8 in the Genesis that made the list, not the V6
