Lexus LF-A Will Remain in Development
When Honda cancelled their plans to build a new NSX, there was some worry that Lexus might follow suit with the LF-A.
Turns out there was nothing to it, Lexus has confirmed their intention to build the LF-A. Auto Express reports:
The news was announced as parent firm Toyota also confirmed its commitment to the Formula One World Championship. It’s thought that a small number of LF-A models will be built this year, primarily to take part in various racing championships around the world.
Of course, it sounds like anyone waiting for the LF-A production model shouldn’t be expecting it next year, but the fact Lexus will be using it as an entry into professional races bodes well for its continued development.

what Lexus should do is make the SC similar to the LFA and a bit smaller with slightly upward tail lights and no rear grills. But man i love this car.

IS F exhausts would be another way to go, but would that degrade the vehicle? …not much, IMO, since the SC isn’t an F model.
I’ve noticed that the Lexus lineup is finally becoming a little more complicated…something I like…variety and many options, but I don’t think the general public customers will like the confusion.

Speaking of variety, how long do you guys think it’s gonna take for Lexus to go back to its “hybrid-as-performance” intentions? …the F-hybrid?
blah…that’s too much. lol
It was just a thought.

I don’t know, a hybrid sports car is money-in-the-bank if you ask me. In fact, I think the rumored Lexus 1-Series competitor will be a hybrid.

It needs to be as good or better than the GT-R. Take your time Lexus, the last thing you want is biased journalists saying this thing is overpriced and the GT-R can run rings around it.

There was an article about how the GT-R was responsible for the LF-A delay. I thought it was a valid theory at the time, but after seeing the automotive press’ extended reaction to the GT-R, I think it’s exactly true.
