Lexus Planning Four New Models in 2009
In a short interview with the Wall Street Journal, Lexus Group Vice President Mark Templin revealed that the company will be releasing four new models next year:
…he’s cutting back spending now so he can invest in the marketing campaigns of these four products one of which, the new RX, was revealed Wednesday. In six weeks at the Detroit auto show, Lexus plans to unveil its new dedicated hybrid, the HS250h. And it is also releasing a new IS convertible next year. Mr. Templin declined to provide details on the fourth product.
Speculation is running wild as to what this new model might be. There’s a few options, but the one I’m hearing most is a sport version of the LS, which I presume will be released as the LS-F. Like the IS-F, this sport package is said to include a new body kit, the Brembo brake package, and the IS-F/600h engine, among other various performance enhancements.
Also, speaking of the 2010 LS, I’ve been told numerous times that both the ES & LS will be receiving a refresh for 2010, and that part of the facelift will be incorporating the grille from the LF-Xh. Anyone want to give that a shot in Photoshop?

Even though the title actually threw me off (didn’t consider what was already unveiled to be three of them), there still is a lot of excitement within me.
First thing is that the front of the non-hybrid LS isn’t very attractive from many angles, esp considering the fact that the shape of the headlights were originally designed for the hybrid.
Second thing is that the dashboard of the LS is no longer as intuitive as it used to be because of all the new gadgets…but the look of it doesn’t make it seem all that exciting. My hype immediately ended after a week after it’s unveiling…the exciting new gadgets couldn’t live on with the dashboard being so…not exciting.
Finally…I’ll just say what I hope for in this new LS.
- aggressive, sleek, and sexy, but all “well-put”
- debuts with professionally taken photos (the IS-F’s original pictures still look ugly, even after I began liking the car)
I can go on, but the thing is that…after seeing the new LX in person and began liking it, I could care less about the LS and just concentrate on the LF-A (I GOT 2 RESPONSES FROM LEXUS DEALER SALESMEN ON Autospies.com!!!)

It has to be the new GX. The 4 runner is being redesigned and it would make sense for Lexus to redesign the GX.

It would be either the GX, SC, JX,or LS F.
not L finesse cars- GX and SC

I would really love to buy a LS-F rather than the S63, I really hope this comes to light.

The fourth car to come out next year will be the GX! To recap, 2010 RX March 2009, RXh spring 2009, IS250/350 convertable spring 2009, HS250h hybrid fall 2009, and all new GX fall 2009. There you have it. write me if you have any questions. mhollander@lexuscarlsbad.com

Would the LX 570 be available in Japan soon.

Unfortunately, I’ve come across nothing in regards to the LX availability in Japan, though I can’t imagine if the demand existed it wouldn’t be offered.
Let me see if I can find out more.

Well, if you’re still here, Matt, can you tell us if the GX looks “good”? Can we expect much?
It’ll be cool if it was the LF-Xh made taller…then the whole Lexus SUV lineup would look pretty nice.
The RX is a softy, the GX is the real deal, and the LX is the biggy.
A tall LF-Xh as the GX just seems to fit in with the Lexus SUV lineup so well…maybe a little too well

I’ve been told multiple times that the new GX will look like a mini LX. Judging from the RX’s obvious LX design cues, I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet.

And by mini LX, I mean 3/4 size.

It IS the new GX. Expect it in the fall. It takes styling cues from the new LX.
