Flickr Find: A Pristine 1991 Lexus ES 250

It may be considered the blacksheep of Lexus’ entire model history, but Flickr user grateful420angelina sure lucked out finding such a pristine ES 250:

With 147,000 miles on it, it’s seen a fair share of asphalt, but it looks like the Ohio winters have been suprisingly kind.

Flickr user J.Garrido used his IS 350 not only to break the law, but he took a photo of it:

Really, all humor aside, this is a beautiful photo, the detail and processing are impeccable and it’s certainly one of the best “new car owner” photos I’ve come across. Wonderful job.

Flickr Find: Lexus @ Salón del Automóvil de Barcelona 2007

Flickr user j0rdi has been taking some great shots at Salón del Automóvil happening right now in Barcelona. Not content to take photos of full cars, all the shots are beautifully cropped, leaving only the finer details.

One of these photos was of a Lexus SC 430, and it takes headlights to an entirely abstract level:

j0rdi’s other photos are amazing, particularly this one — Be sure to check them out.

The Lexus & The Rain Rig

June 4th, 2007   Filed under:  Photos, Commercials, GS 450h

Flickr user gcbp_television has given us an insider’s view to the making of a Lexus GS450h commercial:

The Lexus GS450h & the Rain Rig

The apparatus on top of the GS450h is called a “Rain Rig”, and it simulates a downpour from inside the vehicle. Here are some more details provided by the photographer:

The rain rig was on the car for a Lexus Commercial to be aired on American television. The ad is about a guy who drives around in the rain trying to find a golf course.

The ad was filmed near Loch Lomond and around the East Coast of Scotland. It was shot by famous cameraman Seamus McGarvey BSC, who recently shot Oliver Stone’s movie ‘World Trade Centre’.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for this commercial to leak onto the Internet some time in the future.
